Zip-Clip - High Specification Wire Systems

Ductwork Solutions - Wire Systems

We are manufacturers and designers of high specification suspension wire suspension for all your HVAC and mechanical requirements.

A zip-clip is a device that allows you to join a wire rope to a desired fixing or anchor point. The zip-clip is manufactured from a high quality zinc alloy. The oil impregnated sintered metal wedge is designed to offer the best locking solution. The stainless steel spring ensures the wedge engages first time. The galvanised high tensile wire rope supplied offers you a better safe working load than those found on the market.

All our engineered suspension products are designed with quality and safety in mind.

Advantages of Using a Zip-Clip Wire System

  • Key free release system – no tools required for height adjustment
  • Easier to transport & easier to handle
  • 100 metre coil is equivalent to 30 x 3 metre lengths of threaded rod
  • Cold cut, no hot work permit required
  • Vibration reduction
  • Reduced labour cost
  • Reduced risk of injury
  • Aesthetics – low visual impact
  • Reduces individual components e.g. nuts & washers
  • Reduces impact on the environment – less embodied carbon

Where can I use a wire system?

  • Radiant Heat Panels
  • Fan Coil Units
  • Chilled Beams
  • Gas & Water Pipes
  • Pre-Insulated Ductwork
  • Spiral, Rectangular & Flat Oval Ducting
  • Bracing
  • Spiralite
  • Koolduct
  • Containment
  • Plenum Boxes

Rectangular & Spiral Ductwork Solutions

To support rectangular ductwork using the cradle method, there are a range of termination options to suit various substrates and steelwork.

Con-Lock System - Designed to fix a wire suspension to both cracked and non-cracked concrete ceilings.

Loop-It System - Designed to produce a choke knot around the chosen anchor position.

Thread-It System - Suitable for drop-in anchors, coupling with deck wedges and coupling with channel nuts.

To support rectangular ductwork using the trapeze method, there are a range of locking devices designed to improve installation times and ensure a secure suspension such as the Plus on Wire System and the Strut-Lock System.

The Duct-Lock System uses a steel bracket, utilised to connect a wire rope device to rectangular duct. This allows for the suspension of ductwork without the need of a bearer underneath.

Tear Drop - To support spiral ductwork up to 315mm diameter.

Cradle - To support larger spiral ductwork up to 2000mm diameter.

Attaching to Bracketry

It is recommended that profile channel be used to support the weight of services. Other supporting bracketry is available such as angled steel. Installers must make sure that the supporting steel is fit for purpose.

Eyebolt - This method of connection gives a secure and smooth point of attachment for wire suspension.

Looping the Bracketry - This method of connection involves using the zip-clip to directly loop through an existing hole in the profile channel or the bracket.
