Employing nearly 300 personnel across two UK plants, we have a large and experienced labour resource upon which to draw. Our Engineering Division designs and manufactures all of our own press tools and other special purpose machines, which is a vital resource that enables us to provide a rapid response to market/product changes, as well as satisfy any special customer designs and product requirements. Combined with a formidable array of the latest CNC punch presses, which are ideally suited to low cost production of specials and short production runs, we have a unique capability to experiment with prototypes and specials, both for new product development and for specific projects.
Air Movement Facility & CFD Airflow Modelling
Our Air Movement Test Facility enables us to perform full air movement performance tests, both for our own research and for specific customer projects. Designed to ISO 5219 specifications, we have superb versatility in room and plant arrangement which allows controlled air flow through numerous types of device in a multitude of mounting positions.
Experiments determine key data, including flow rates, pressures, velocities and temperatures, with the computer centre recording all tests, both visually and in data form.
Supporting this, we have the latest Computational Fluid Dynamics airflow modelling software which, using a 3D CAD base, allows our engineers to generate a computer graphical model of any area complete with air terminal or other devices. Models are populated with sub structures, fixtures and other heating/cooling loads, enabling the software to accurately map and predict the airflow and heat transfer in three dimensions. Using this software, complex project applications can often be proven without the need for laboratory testing.
Gilberts’ latest product innovation ‘Mistrale’ expands on our vision to provide the best in modern, energy efficient air distribution solutions. The Mistrale Natural Ventilation range is a complete, all new design portfolio that incorporates patented design features which position it at the leading edge of modern natural ventilation design. Mistrale includes a number of full natural ventilation solutions designed for both stack effect and wind power operation, as well as our new mixed mode Fusion terminals which offer single façade solutions with part natural ventilation, combined with a low eco power fan to introduce additional performance and heat recovery benefits.
A matching controls package unifies system functionality with room CO2 and temperature sensors interfacing to fully manage the complex relationship between airflow, temperature and air quality to maintain the perfect environment.
