Based in Herefordshire, England, The
Helping Hand Company is the worlds' single largest manufacturer of
Reaching Aids and Litterpickers. The company has been manufacturing
these since 1965. Following a change of ownership in 1988, we have
further developed our range of aids for daily living and pressure
care products and now offer:
- Chair lifts
- Patient lift systems
- Bath hoists and lifts
- Ceiling hoists and lifts
Symmetrikit and The Helping Hand Company: In 1998, Symmetrikit
became part of the Helping Hand Company, bringing expertise in
design & manufacturing of specialist seating for the most dependent
clients. Since then, Symmetrikit founders Liz & John Goldsmith, have
worked to develop the practice of 24 hour Postural management,
introducing the Symmetrisleep concept in 1999.
In 1998 we also introduced our own range of mobile and overhead
hoists, which are now marketed through our Symmetrikit team.
Currently 150 strong, the Helping Hand Company manufacture in both
Ledbury (Herefordshire) and Tamworth (Staffordshire) and sell our
products to 22 different countries.
Our Brands and Trade marks include The Helping Hand, The
Litterpicker, Lowzone, Symmetrikit, Symmetrisleep, Swan, Pen and
Cricket. We are pleased to represent H.Meyland-Smith of Aalborg,
Denmark in promoting the Meywalk & Miniwalk in the UK.
Our UK customers are primarily Therapy & Care teams working in the
Social Service, Health Authority as well the private and charitable
sectors.
Our joint venture partners in the Netherlands, Innocare also
specialise in the Symmetrikit range of chairs and sleep systems. Hoists
Our mobile and overhead hoists all employ our "Poser" technology to
put patient comfort and safety back into lifting while reducing the
time needed to train and retrain carers in correct sling usage. Skyframe Freestanding Overhead Hoist
If a rapid or temporary solution is required, a freestanding
Skyframe can be quickly erected and taken down again when not
required. As the top rail is common with our celing or wall fixed
models, it is easy to convert a temporary installation to a
permanent, then re-issue the legs for use elsewhere.

The Pen Mobile Hoist
Compact version of the Swan for use at home or in confined
spaces.The Pen will lift from the floor over a domestic bed &
pressure mattress without having to adjust the sling or step the
