In Spring 2004, the Optiroc 'brand' was changed to that of our
European-based parent organization maxit.
This rebranding has been undertaken to reflect a closer integration
with the 45 companies that make up the maxit Group in over 30
countries throughout Europe.

market-leading products through the introduction into the UK of a
yet broader range of products that have been proven throughout
Europe, under a consistent identity.

In fast moving commercial and retail environments, time is money.
Floors need to be laid quickly and, more importantly, they need to
be walkable for following trades in the shortest time possible. They
need to be quick drying so that soft coverings can be applied
without delay and must be smooth and level. maxit ABS commercial
screeds provide a fast track solution to a high-performance, flat
surface ready for direct application of vinyls and carpets,
minimising down time and optimising the floor-to-ceiling height.
They have been developed for optimum speed, allowing foot traffic
within as little as just a few hours and can be ready to receive
final floor covering in as little as 24 hours. There are products
for use in insulated, acoustic or heated floors and a range of
thicker floating and bonded screeds suitable for any floor levelling
requirement.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS FOR HEAVY INDUSTRY
For heavier industrial environments, the ABS Industrial Duro. System
offers efficient installation of smooth, hard-wearing, non-dusting,
seamless flat floors with minimal down time. The system consists of
standard and extra strength base screeds, and hard-wearing and
extra-heavy-duty top screeds which can be applied as the final
finish or painted. ABS Industrial Floors are ideal for factory and
warehouse situations with high demands for wear and abrasion
resistance. Where maximum flatness and repeated wheel movement
resistance are both vital, as in high bay racking systems, ABS can
achieve the flatness ratings TR34 category 1 and 2. Speed of
application is up to ten times faster than that of traditional
screeds, and fast drying and curing properties allow forklift
traffic or resin finishes to be applied within 24 hours.
FAST TRACK SOLUTIONS FOR LIGHT INDUSTRY
In the industrial environment, speed, strength and durability
compete for the keys to a successful floor. For light industrial
needs, the ABS range provides both self-coloured top screeds, which
act as a finished floor or can be sealed, and a rapid-drying base
screed which can receive resin finishes within 24 hours.
VERSATILE SOLUTIONS FOR RENOVATION
maxit pioneered the development of pumpable fibre-reinforced floor
screeds that enable application on to a variety of substrates
including existing damaged sand and cement screeds, concrete, wooden
floorboards, old vinyls, terrazzo and ceramics. Because they can be
applied as thin as 10mm, they will not significantly reduce
floor-to-ceiling height and can be used where conventional screeds
would be too heavy.
SOUND SOLUTIONS FOR ACOUSTIC INSULATION
By combining selected slim ABS floor screeds with sound insulation
materials, maxit has created a complete dB flooring system suited to
change-of-use renovation projects. maxit dB flooring systems enable
you to meet the new requirements of the amended Part E of the
Building Regulations without significantly affecting
floor-to-ceiling height.
HAND-APPLIED SOLUTIONS FOR SMOOTHING AND LEVELLING
For those smaller areas or when you have the need for filling large
deformities, building slopes or for building very thick layers, the
ABS range also includes a number of fast setting hand-applied
smoothing and levelling compounds. Versatile and easy-to-apply, the
range includes products suitable for application to new and old
concrete, woods, floorboards and old vinyls.
SPECIALIST SOLUTIONS FOR MARINE APPLICATIONS
Refurbishing a ship or oil rig has to be carried out in the shortest
possible time, but laying screed by hand is slow and can delay other
trades. maxit ABS 600 Marine Elastic pumpable floor screed is a
uniquely flexible, durable pumped creed system for steel decking
which can be installed at over 1000m˛ per day, is ready for foot
traffic in 1-2 hours and for soft floor coverings in 24 hours,
minimising down time.
