available on the market, the Prysmian FP range is easy to install,

Prysmian FP200 Gold®
A unique fire resistant cable incorporating hard
skin Insudite™ insulation. The right choice for fire alarms and
emergency lighting with minimum installed costs. The original, easy
to install alternative to MICC with unmatched combination of
rigidity and ease of bending. Good voice and data transmission
characteristics. BASEC & LPCB approved for fire
detection and fire alarm critical signal paths to
BS5839-1:2002+A2:2008 and voice alarm systems to BS5839-8:2008 in
“standard” application areas, and emergency lighting systems to
BS5266-1:2005. Prysmian New Generation FP Plus™
Prysmian launched a new and improved version of
FP PLUS™ in 2007. Combining the unmatched combination of rigidity
and ease of bending associated with FP200 Gold® with a newly
developed enhanced hard skin Insudite™ insulation and high
performance sheath, new generation FP PLUS™ sets previously
unobtainable standards in ease of installation for an “enhanced”
cable whilst maintaining full compliance with all necessary test
requirements. Sets the new standard for “enhanced” fire alarm
cables. BASEC & LPCB approved for fire
detection and fire alarm critical signal paths to
BS5839-1:2002+A2:2008 and voice alarm systems to BS5839-8:2008 in
“enhanced” application areas, and emergency lighting systems to
BS5266-1:2005. Prysmian FP400®
Tough armoured power cable for essential
services. When you need continuous power supply for emergency
services, FP400® makes all the difference. FP400® has been the cable
choice for many projects and applications where previously only MICC
has been approved for use.

category CWZ. Prysmian FP600S
This high performance new product is already
being widely specified. FP600S is extremely robust cable for
essential emergency services. Greater emphasis is now being given to
the integrity of electrical circuits which maintain the functional
safe working conditions of life safety and fire fighting equipment
and systems. The FP600 range is the first of a new generation of
fire resistant cables designed to meet the much more onerous fire
survival requirements now considered appropriate for such
applications.

The new requirements and test method for cables
for use in such applications which involves an integrated fire test
with the application of radiation by flame, direct impact and water
jet to a single sample of cable are given in BS7346-6:2005
“Components for smoke and heat control systems - Part 6:
Specifications for Cable Systems”. The test method was also
published in stand alone form as BS8491:2008.
FP600S have been extensively tested against these requirements and
achieved the maximum 120 minute rating. LPCB
approved to BS 7346-6 120 min and BS8491:2008 120 min.
Fire Performance Accessories – FP FIREFIX™
FP FIREFIX™ is the fixing clip for FP200 Gold®
and FP Plus™ cables. It is an alternative to the traditional “AP
clip” used to secure fire resistant cables. FP
FIREFIX™ is the fastest way to install FP cables utilising “Spit
Pulsa” gas nailing technology. The use of the Spit Pulsa tool allows
the clip to be nailed directly on to a variety of substrates and
significantly reduces cable installation times.
The FP FIREFIX™ range of fixing clips includes a double clip
suitable for one or two FP cables and a single clip for single cable
runs Many users are already benefiting from the
time and cost savings that the use of the FP FIREFIX™ system brings.
