Packaged Sub Stations & LV Switchgear Distribution
Reflecting the global prowess of the ABB Group in
raising standards of product innovation, ABB Low Voltage Systems
provide total solutions with system based equipment that covers the
electrical distribution chain for the financial and data centre
infrastructures, building services, oil and petrochemical
installations, industrial process plants and the public, commercial,
retail and utility sectors.
Continued investment maintains the company’s
presence as the leader in technology with the comprehensive MNS
product range providing space-saving benefits to both client and
end-user.
The extensive portfolio of fully type tested
electrical distribution and motor control equipment provides
intelligent or conventional energy efficient solutions, together
with reliability, flexibility and exceptional performance.
ABB places particular emphasis on packaging the
key elements of an installations power requirement such as MV
Switchgear, Transformers and LV Switchgear. By utilising low energy
and compact devices housed in systems that are tried and tested to
the latest national and international standards ABB can offer
solutions to meet the most stringent of power requirements.

Operational Safety & Availability
The MNS low voltage switchgear system has been subjected to
extensive type tests in compliance with the standards. In order to ensure the
highest possible degree of safety, ABB continues to conduct tests as per a
continuous development program.
These tests are based on the most critical representative
applications of the entire product or performance range of the switchgear with
respect to the test standard.
The results of these tests are applicable to the various low
voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies in accordance with IEC 61439-1 &
2; DIN EN 60439-1/VDE 0660 Part 500).
In addition to the above specifications ABB adopted as a
standard IEC 61641 for Testing under conditions of arcing due to an internal
fault. There are five criteria observed for the test, in line with its ‘Safety
Plus’ statement ABB ensures that all five are met. In addition to these five
criteria ABB also meets the addition plant protection criteria as detailed in
VDE 0660 part 500.
Operating Procedures
The company’s operating systems and procedures are fully
certified to ISO 9001 requirements, the stringent environmental standards of ISO
14001 and to OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety requirements.
After Sales, Service & Maintenance
Routine servicing and maintenance of LV installations by the
company’s
highly qualified engineers will ensure that equipment remains safe to operate –
and will minimise the risk of unexpected breakdown and interruption of supply.
Cost-effective packages, which are carefully tailored to clients’ individual
needs, can cover an extensive range of requirements. |
