Universal Bus Intelligent Controls DALI Lighting Control
KNX UKUniversal Bus Intelligent Controls DALI Lighting Control KNX (formerly EIB) is an international building control standard for intelligent buildings and automated building control systems. The technology can be applied to domestic lifestyle smart home automation projects and commercial new build and refurbishment projects. Many world-leading manufacturers who provide a vast array of KNX-certified products have eagerly adopted the standard. KNX enables the integration and programming of these products using a single software tool. KNX products are all thoroughly tested for compliance, ensuring they operate seamlessly together on a single, simple network. Choosing from this pool of interoperable technology, a system can be designed and built using off-the-shelf building control components that ‘speak the same language’ and can operate across the same network, resulting in much less cabling and higher functionality. KNX is the only global standard for home control systems and building control systems with:
KNX is approved as:
With the “Green” agenda very much to the fore, it is important that building control systems are specified that can make a major contribution to energy savings. KNX can be used not only to implement simple lighting control procedures but also to achieve fully integrated energy saving solutions. Building owners can use KNX across a wide range of building services:
Over time, needs change within a building’s environment and a flexible building control solution that allows changes to be made with minimal disruption is essential. With KNX, problems of the past such as disruption, rewiring, wastage or added hardware are no longer a concern - with KNX a system can be simply reprogrammed with a laptop. The KNX UK AssociationThe KNX UK Association is a non-profit organization that represents UK manufacturers of KNX solutions, systems integrators, KNX training establishments and other interested parties to promote the KNX standard. This KNX UK association is part of a worldwide network of national KNX Associations that reside under the KNX International Association based in Brussels. In the UK numbers of KNX installations are growing rapidly as more and more engineers realise the benefits of this truly flexible solution. The demand for Smart Home technology is as strong as ever, whilst in the commercial market, KNX features within many new and refurbished landmark buildings from Heathrow T5 to The British Library.
