Farrow & Ball have been manufacturing paint and lime based paints in their factory in Dorset since 1946. They remain one of the very few companies producing a full range of traditional and modern paint finishes to the highest quality.
Farrow & Ball paint colours are unmatched by other paint manufacturers. They use more high quality pigments and resins and avoid low quality fillers which give the paint colours noticeable depth and purity. Unlike some other manufacturers, Farrow & Ball use naturally occurring pigments such as umbers and they continue to use such ingredients as chalk, lime putty, linseed oil and china clay.
Farrow & Ball paints have been used in a range of settings throughout the world. Their colours and finishes are historically based, carefully researched and reflect their unique heritage.
Farrow and Ball specialist paint finishes:
When decorating historical buildings, the properties and specialist finishes of Farrow & Ball’s paint ranges are an essential ingredient to creating an authentic look. These specialist finishes are made to order using natural ingredients and as such have a no returns policy:
Simple traditional distemper bound together with natural resins to create a very flat powdery look allowing ceilings to breathe and can be used on fine plasterwork.
A wipeable strengthened distemper suitable for interior plastered walls or ceilings.
A readily usable limewash suitable for use on walls and ceilings both internally and externally.
