Product Knowledge training courses
The traditional and ever-popular PK1 and PK2 (Advanced) training courses are present, supported by a one-day shorter course covering mechanical strength and glass design (MECH).
Product Knowledge (PK1)
Course length: 2 days - 26-27 April | 14-15 June | 20–21 Sept 2017
Fee: Free to employees of NSG Group and customers (subject to approval)
Course Details:
This training course has been designed for non-technical personnel or as introductory course for those new to a technical position. It aims to provide participants with the ability to match Pilkington products to the needs of their customers. Detailed technical information on products is not included (see PK2).

- Fire protection

- Decoration and privacy
- Self-cleaning

- Visits to float glass production and new off-line coater (subject to availability)
Advanced Product Knowledge (PK2)
Course length: 3 days - 16–18 May | 20-22 June | 7–9 Nov 2017
Fee: Free to employees of NSG Group and customers (subject to approval)
Course Details:
This training course has been designed for personnel in the glass industry who require greater confidence when discussing technical enquiries with architects and specifiers. Participants will gain an appreciation of glass as a functional, aesthetic and structural building material. It will provide them with a fuller understanding of the Pilkington product range.
The course will be more intense than PK1 and has a much higher technical content. Some calculations will be involved.
