Word Description
Light Stabilizers These are added to prevent fading and chalking. Fading is caused by ultra violet light from the sun and results in a dull finished surface. Chalking is when a white residue forms on the surface of the window caused by the release of titanium dioxide from within the profile. Eventually, white streaks will form when rain washes this powder across a building surface. By adding a light stabilizer, the amount of titanium dioxide can be reduced in the compound preventing the unwanted leaching.
