Founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi, the Artemide Group is based in Pregnana, Milan and operates through 24 controlled and related companies and a distribution network that includes 55 single brand showrooms in major cities all around the world. The Artemide products are distributed in 98 different countries. With five manufacturing plants in Italy, France, Hungary, and Canada, two glassworks and one research and innovation team supported by ground breaking prototyping and testing labs, the Group currently employs about 750 people, including 60 involved in R&D activities. The Artemide collections convey a unique mix of values – the approach to human and responsible light goes hand in hand with design and material savoir-faire in a blend of next-generation technology and old wisdom – the perfect expression of sustainable design.

Alphabet of Light

Alphabet of Light is a language based on light intended to convey freedom, an elementary principle generating an open system. BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) starts from a palette of essential geometries to design a new font that translates into light, an alphabet used to write, a tool to give shape to spaces. Two linear elements of different lengths and two round ones are combined with a system of letters, numbers and symbols. The round elements, available in two diameters, can be separated into modules to join the linear elements together according to different angles, designing ever-changing geometries. These simple base modules, with specific geometric proportions, can be combined with each other to create countless basic or more complex, linear or curved structures of light to produce suspended luminaires matching architecture or space function. The idea of BIG joins the optoelectronic competence of Artemide to define an innovative construction principle and provide continuous and comfortable lighting.

A series of ceiling mounted luminaires available in four diameters (80mm, 270mm, 570mm and 970mm) using high-output LEDs, retrofit LEDs, 12V halogen lamps, metal halide and fluorescent sources. Aluminium body available in different two-coloured versions: beige/white, grey/white, black/orange, black/green and black/blue. Tagora 80 and 270 offer high-output spot light with advanced optics. Two beam angles for LED version and three for metal halide version. Tagora 270 LED uses a proprietary system based on a hybrid combined lens and reflector optic. This system helps to create defined narrow beams using high-powered LED modules of large dimensions. Tagora 570 and 970 come with a PMMA diffuser, offering a comfortable diffused light. LED versions use high-output sources. Monochromatic LED option with warm white (3000K) and neutral white (4000K) options. Integrated electronic power supply, either dimmable or non-dimmable.

Suspended luminaire with sound-absorbing properties, delivered by a specific sinusoidal cross-section design of the lower surface and use of a sound-absorbing material. Acoustic efficiency is ensured within a limited space by positioning at approximately one metre above the head of the speaker and listener. A board with a high number of low-voltage LEDs with roto-symmetrical reflectors ensures maximum lighting comfort. Colour temperature of either 3000K or 4000K. Compliant with all anti-glare regulations for use in workplace environments.

This range of professional track spotlights is distinguished by precise design, excellent performance and utmost flexibility. Picto is a complete and versatile range, suitable for use in retail spaces, showrooms, museums or art galleries. Available in three different sizes with a selection of installation options, designs, colours, optics and a wide range of accessories.

Tolomeo Series

Light radiates out of the Tolomeo everywhere, making it one of the world’s best selling and most enduring design classics. It has been a success for its Italian designers Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina for 30 years. The unique feature of the lamp is that it is truly multifunctional: the Tolomeo moves smoothly along its arm on a wire cable. De Lucchi constructed the lamp head in such a way that it can rotate on its own axis through 360 degrees and can be fixed into position by means of a handle. The result is a unique radius of movement that enables the Tolomeo to distribute its light over the work surface according to personal preference. Currently available in Micro, Mini, Maxi and Mega sizes, desk, wall, floor, suspension and outdoor versions.
