Schueco UK - Steel Section Glazing Systems / Solar Shading

Steel Section Glazing Systems - VISS SG - Glazed Fire Doors - ALB - Solar Shading - Louvre Blades

Steel Section Glazing Systems

While Schueco is known as the market leader in the design and supply of aluminium systems for the building envelope, its partner company, Schueco Jansen, is equally well respected for its range of premium-quality façade, window and door systems manufactured in both steel and stainless steel.

Narrow sightlines, extreme durability, excellent thermal insulation and the ability to support long spans make façade systems such as VISS SG a popular choice with architects designing for the commercial market.

Schueco Jansen also supplies a wide variety of glazed fire doors and screens such as the Janisol C4 range.

Manufactured with special isolators and an advanced fire-retardant core, C4 systems achieve an EI90 rating.

The renovation market is catered for by Janisol Arte, a replacement steel window that delivers ‘U’ values as low as 1.6 W/m²K using standard Low ‘E’ double-glazed units. It enables buildings of the ’50s and ’60s to be refurbished to meet modern standards governing CO2 emissions and energy performance.

Key Features

  • Façades with long spans and narrow sightlines
  • Thermally insulated and non-insulated windows and doors
  • Hinged, sliding and folding door systems
  • Fully glazed fire-resisting doors and screens for 30-, 60- and 90-minute protection
  • Powder coated and stainless steel options

Schueco ALB – Solar Shading

Schueco ALB, a range of large louvre solar shading systems, is an integrated extension of Schueco’s curtain-walling systems, although it may be used on any type of building façade. It is available with a choice of aluminium or glass louvre blades in a variety of shapes, widths and lengths.

The blades can be either fixed (Passive) or movable (Active). Linked to an integrated building management system, ALB Active can contribute significantly to the performance and energy efficiency of a building.

ALB louvre blades can be mounted horizontally, vertically or even diagonally depending upon the orientation of a building and the prevailing weather conditions. They can also be mounted on cantilevered outriggers projecting at right angles to the façade.

One particularly interesting feature is that the blades can be curved in the horizontal plane, allowing them to follow the perimeter of curved façades, a design ‘first’ that offers architects a new degree of design freedom.

Key Features

  • Reduction in cooling energy due to protection against overheating
  • Artificial light replaced by controlled daylight management
  • Solar energy yields from integrated photovoltaic modules
  • Radio controlled with manual operation for individual comfort
  • Central control saves energy and offers comfort in the workplace
  • Project-based emergency exit solutions with high level of product reliability
